Introduction

This training program is designed specifically for new entrants into the banking field. Often this program is included as a core component within a bank’s “Management Associate Development” induction training.

It blends the principles of consumer lending, commercial lending and SME business banking into one comprehensive and coherent program that discusses lending principles and practices, central bank regulations, and the range of the Bank’s lending products.

Program objectives:

This program traces the different lending processes from generating and processing loan applications to loan closing, documentation, collection, and recovery. It also reviews the credit investigation, loan evaluation, and decision-making processes. Bankers will develop a greater understanding for customer relationship building as well as the laws and regulations that affect lending.

b. Gain an Understanding of How Banks Make Consumer Lending Decisions Based on the Five (5) C’s of Credit, Credit Scoring , Portfolio Risk
Understand the Consumer Lending Process
c. Learn about Consumer Loan Products: Credit Card, Personal, Housing, & Auto
d. Prepare for and conduct client interviews
Conduct credit investigations and assessments
e. Calculate the cost of borrowing for clients
f. Identify all required documentation necessary to execute complex transactions
