Alwaleed Kamal
Alwaleed held numerous staff and managerial positions in Citibank Bahrain between 1985 and 1997 in the areas of Treasury, Investment Banking and Cash Management. The primary focus was on SME, Corporate and High Net-Worth Individuals in the GCC and the Levant region. His last position in Citibank was, Vice President – Head of Treasury Marketing.
In 1997 he was appointed as an Assistant General Manager in BMB Investment Bank and was responsible for the development of the fee income business of the bank. In 2003 he joined Impact w.l.l. as a senior consultant and was engaged in almost all the major projects of the firm in the Middle East region with special focus on Strategic Advisory, Financial and Investment assignments.
Between March 2010 and November 2011, he was engaged in an assignment with the European Islamic Investment Bank (UK incorporated and regulated bank) in rebuilding their Bahrain presence and in advising on potential Private Equity investments in the region which involved, assessing management teams, analyzing financial performance and validating management plans against financial performance.
From May 2013 till end of 2014 Alwaleed was the Chief Operating Officer for Baniyas Investment and Development Company in Abu Dhabi. BIDC is the investment and development arm of the Baniyas Sports Club focusing mainly on the development of the Bawabat Al Sharq project which is built on a 1.7 million sqm plot and includes a 64 thousand sqm mall of retail, F&B and a cinema, a GEMS operated school, 16 apartment blocks and 330 villas.
Alwaleed holds an MBA from the University of Hull in the UK and is a Director in Impact w.l.l.
